In this class, children will take an in-depth look at the origins and historical roots of weaving, gaining an understanding of the complete process from natural fiber to finished fabric, and exploring how ancient weaving techniques have been preserved and carried forward into the present day. The class will also feature an appreciation of distinctively beautiful indigenous garments, allowing children to experience the exquisite craftsmanship and rich cultural heritage they embody.Most excitingly, every child will weave their very own indigenous headband by hand! Through this hands-on experience, children will engage both their visual and tactile senses simultaneously, gaining a deeper understanding of the wonders of weaving as an art form.
