Also known as "niupitang," maltose candy is one of the oldest traditional sweet treats in China, made primarily from malt sugar that is repeatedly boiled and stretched to achieve its uniquely soft, springy, and chewy texture. Through the process of kneading, pulling, and shaping, children will not only experience the magical transformation of the candy between their hands, but also gain a true appreciation for the artistry of traditional confectionery craft — and bring home a wonderfully sweet handmade surprise!
