敬老重陽
Celebrated on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, the Double Ninth Festival is a time to honor elders, appreciate the autumn season, and gather with family. In Chinese, the number nine (*jiǔ*) shares its sound with the word for "long-lasting" making this day a cherished symbol of longevity, respect, and togetherness.In this course, students will explore the history, legends, and customs behind this meaningful festival, and experience its poetic spirit through classical Chinese verse. They will also get hands-on: making traditional Double Ninth Cake — a symbol of good fortune and harmony — and tasting seasonal chrysanthemum tea, connecting with the flavors and warmth of this beloved celebration.
農曆九月初九重陽節，是登高賞秋、敬老慶壽的傳統佳節。「九」與「久」同音，寓意長久長壽。這一天，既是感念長者的節日，也是闔家團聚的時刻。課程中，學生將探索重陽節的歷史由來與民間傳說，深入了解節日習俗，並透過詩詞欣賞感受這個充滿詩意的季節。課程最後，學生將親手製作象徵吉祥圓滿的重陽糕，並品嚐時令菊花茶，在動手做的過程中感受傳統節慶的溫度與美味。
